What's the best way to know my credit score?

This is a question someone asked me recently. There are truly numerous ways to get your credit and credit score. The best way to pull your credit is by going to this site annualcreditreport.com .

"AnnualCreditReport.com is a centralized service for consumers to request free annual credit reports. It was created by the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

AnnualCreditReport.com provides consumers with the secure means to request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies in accordance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act)."

You will be given an opportunity to purchase a credit score from any of the nationwide credit reporting agencies after you receive your free annual credit report from any of them in response to a request made through the website. It's not free, but the cost is fair.

Some ways to receive your credit score free-is to think about any recent credit purchases you have made. If you they checked your credit you are able to receive and see this same report they viewed just by asking. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) also allows you to get a free credit report if your credit application is denied. However, you can only get a free report from the credit reporting company that provided the report used by your lender to make its decision. The FCRA also entitles you to a free report if you are unemployed and seeking employment, receiving welfare assistance or if you are a victim of fraud or believe you may be a victim.

Now others might say well I know about all these options, but how about monitoring my credit. Well there are these options out there as well. Surprisingly your credit card companies, banks, or even private companies are well known for setting this up for you. I know I had an American Express, and they were very good about letting me know about any updates on my credit score or report.
